This 1972 E-3 Bavaria 3.0 sedan, VIN 3103761, the “SENIOR6”, is an authenticated one-owner Ultimate Driving Machine. While on military active duty in Europe I placed an order direct to the BMW factory April 10, 1972 and took delivery at a BMW dealership in Wiesbaden, West Germany August 11, 1972.

Exterior: Malaga. Interiors: Black Vinyl. Options: Tinted Glass, Hydro Power Steering, Locking Glove Compartment, Trunk Tool Kit.

I keep it close to original production configuration. The few enhancements were needed to maintain the mechanicals and electricals in good running order and I keep up the interior and exterior appearance to ensure its longevity.

A factory new M30 short block and dual Weber 32/36 DGAV carburetors and an upgraded cooling system were installed in 1987 after a series of overheating episodes damaged the original M30 engine. A full body “rejuvenation” and repaint in BMW Sierra Red Pearl Metallic was done in 2002. A 5-speed transmission was installed in 2017 when the original 4-speed began to fail. All interiors and the complete tool kit under the trunk lid are as delivered. The Blaupunkt Bamberg stereo radio cassette with four Blaupunkt globe pedestal speakers is 1972-period-correct.

The “SENIOR6” has over 200,000 miles on the odometer (late 2019).
